Confirmed thru multiple places, at a recent convention in France a new Mysterious Cities of Gold series was announced.

No idea as of yet if it will be a coproduction with Japan like the original, but apparently the designs will be very similiar, and the original series director is involved in some fashion. 3 seasons of 26 episodes each.

Awhile ago we learned that Fabulous Films would be releasing the classic series Mysterious Cities of Gold on DVD in a few different countries, the USA included.

Mysterious Cities of Gold was a coproduction between quite a few different companies and groups and is one of the first anime (the first?) that aired on Nickelodeon back in the 1980s.
