Stitch! Update- Writer
By Marc | September 6th, 2009

Small update for Stitch! since I’ve had multiple people ask me for more updates whenever possible.

Nimoy

Well known English dub writer, actor and director Jeff Nimoy will be writing the English adaption for Stitch! (No news on who the director is, or if there are other writers.)

He is most well known among anime fans for writing and directing a large percentage of Digimon’s English adaption (and playing Tentomon) and playing Wolfwood in the English adaption of Trigun.  He has also written (and directed in many cases) for Bobobo, Zatch Bell, Naruto, GTO, and numerous other shows.

It’s also worth mentioning he wrote and directed the English adaption for RoboDz, a recent Toei/Disney co-production.

Stitch! Cast Update
By Marc | August 30th, 2009

I’ve been able to confirm information about one cast member for the dub of the Stitch! anime.

pleakley

Pleakly, played by Kevin McDonald in prior Stitch media, has been recast, as I’ve been able to confirm known LA area ADR actors used in Studiopolis anime Dubs have tried out for the role.

With Pleakly being replaced, it seems likely that Jumba Jookiba will also be recast (he was played by David Ogden Stiers in other material.)

No news about Stitch himself. If I get further information I’ll let everyone know.

Stitch! Anime Coming to the USA
By Marc | July 14th, 2009

Fans of both Disney and anime should be happy because it appears the Disney/Madhouse anime production Stitch! (a spin-off of the Lilo and Stitch franchise) will be coming to the USA relatively soon.

stitch

I’ve been able to confirm that pre-production work has began on an English version of Stitch! at Studiopolis using the normal crop of Los Angeles area dub actors (no idea if Chris Sanders, one of the directors of the original film, will be reprising his role as Stitch).  Should be interesting to see how an English dub, of a Japanese anime, based on a Disney property will turn out.
