Awhile ago we learned that Fabulous Films would be releasing the classic series Mysterious Cities of Gold on DVD in a few different countries, the USA included.
Mysterious Cities of Gold was a coproduction between quite a few different companies and groups and is one of the first anime (the first?) that aired on Nickelodeon back in the 1980s.
It came out in the UK, it came out in Australia, and everything has been silent on the USA front, so what happened? (more…)

Well there goes my Otakon guess that Media Blasters would announce the show.
In February Toon Disney will be rebranded as Disney XD (which is the same name as Disney’s online video viewer service). The new channel will have a general focus on the 6-14 year old boy market.
It will continue to have a good majority of the current shows it has now, like Batman the Animated Series and likely Power Rangers.
One show that will be joining Disney XD is RoboDz, a CGI anime that Disney co-produced with Toei and airs on Toon Disney’s Japanese counterpart. RoboDz is a short form story where each episode is 5 minutes long.

At the moment Gurren Lagann is being released in a relatively barebones sub only format. Starting near the end of the year it will start getting a slightly different release with lots of extras and a dub directed by fanboy favorite Tony Oliver. Bandai’s official blog put up a preview of the box that will come with Volume 1 of the more deluxe version of the series. (more…)
Since I know a few people out there (myself included) are Ben 10 fans I thought I would go over an issue with the Ben 10 Season 4 DVD set.
The “Secret of the Omnitrix” movie (all 4 versions of it: Red, Blue, Gold, and Red w/ trivia popups) are on the second disk of the Season 4 set. (more…)
The DVD art for Bender’s Game has finally been released. Really good coverart for a D&D style adventure.
This is also the first Futurama release that will be on Blu-ray, but no artwork for that version yet.
