I’ve gotten a few questions from friends about this, saw Nebs wonder about it, and seen at least two people claim they had to for ‘legal reasons’, so I felt it was about time I explain what is up with ADV re-releasing all kinds of old thinpak boxes they’ve done with new covers, and why new covers equals more sales. Every Monday night I’ll post the comic release list for the upcoming Wednesday. This is every issue that comes out. I remove collectables, graphic novels, 2nd printings, etc. I try to make it a bit more readable also. Feel free to post your list in your comment if you’d like. Continue reading Categories: Feature

This guy named Bob (Robert Pelloni) has been spending five years making an RPG for the Nintendo DS. Instead of battles you have conversations. He made all the graphics, story, and other assets himself. The game stars a character named Yuu and the video window above shows a quick video of the demo running on a real DS. Bob is currently trying to find a distributor for the game. I really hope I get to play this game someday. Who is Yuu? {Bob’s Game Official Website} By Marc | August 11th, 2008
Just thought I would clarify this since I’ve seen a bit of confusion on the net. Code Geass R2 will start on Adult Swim immediatly after the end of Code Geass on Adult Swim. Categories: News

The Homestar Runner series finally makes it’s grand appearance in the (commercial) gaming market with it’s first game, “Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People- Episode 1: Homestar Ruiner”, for the Wii. Probably one of the most long awaited games for WiiWare, the game has more than enough moments, but it isn’t a perfect game by any means. Continue reading Categories: Game Review

Hey there. This is Rachel, a staff member with a wide variety of nerdy interests making my first post to the site, and in it what should be the first of many reviews from me… As a fan of classic television, science fiction, and Lorne Greene, I probably should have sought out the original Battlestar Galactica much sooner than this. But I didn’t know much about it until recently, other than that the timing of the original broadcast made it seem like a mere attempt to cash in on the Star Wars craze. However, while there are at least a few visual similarities to Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica’s story and execution are quite different. ~Marc- Small note from your favorite editor, this will FBR’s first review with the full episode embedded in the review, if you wish to watch the episode BEFORE reading the review, scroll to the bottom.~ By Marc | August 11th, 2008
So apparently one of Bandai USA’s new DBZ toys is an electronic game where you connect a Goku and a Piccolo figure to electronic handles and press buttons to make them flail about and scream battle action phrases while battling them. The issue with it is WHERE the connector points are… Yeah… Well, if you too require weird asses on your toys, have at it (and feel free to make any obvious jokes in the comments). Thanks to a forum goer on Daizex for the picture… I think. Categories: News

The big news from Day 3 of Otakon is ADV finally has new stuff to announce. First up, for anime, they have the 3 episode Indian Summer (Koharu Biyori) OVA. Then under a new subbrand called Switchblade Films they have a few live action films. A new series of Kunoichi movies, Female Prisoner Epsilon, Attack Girl Swim Team Vs. the Undead, Cruel Restaurant, and Gluttonous 1 & 2. We also may get some news on the live action Evangelion film later this year Categories: News

I really enjoy the Shin-Chan dub. I normally prefer dubs to be as close as reasonably possible (although as long as the subs are uncut I don’t mind some rewriting and such in the dub). Shin-Chan on DVD is technically an ‘edited’ release, but I just love it so much. Categories: Feature
